Recently, news on Windows 7 End of life has arrived. On Jan 14, 2020, the company will begin the Windows 7 end of life phase, said Microsoft.

On the same day, i.e., Jan 14, 2020, the company would discontinue sending security updates on Windows 7 on desktops and laptops. Moreover, it will stop all the support, including paid support.

But, during this period, Microsoft will be providing you paid support, though not provide you the complimentary license support. 

The company will continue to offer you security updates but not features and design ones.

What does End of Life exactly mean?

The term “End of Life” means that the date or an interval, after which the developer company no longer supports the application. 

Make sure; you can continue to use Windows 7 but at your own risk. Everyone is now familiar that every time the latest malware and viruses are developed. 

So, without getting any updates, how can you fight against such malicious content, if your system gets infected? 

Now, you must be questioning why Windows 7 life is ending?

The general term- Lifecycle is all about the starting and ending. Similarly, every product of Windows has a lifecycle, and it begins when the product is released until it ends when the device no longer supports the product.

Being a Windows user, you’ll not find much difference between the two. However, when it comes to their interfaces, they are quite different.

Once you migrate from Windows 7 to Windows 10, you’ll have to upgrade it timely. The OS was designed as a service application, which means it periodically updated automatically with security enhancements & new features.

Processor: 1GHz Process or Faster

Hard Disk Space: Up to 20GB of Space

Memory: For 32 -bit installation 1Gb of RAM and For 64-bit installation 2GB of RAM.

Connectivity: Internet Access 

Graphics Card: You’ll be getting a screen with a resolution of 800 by 600 or maybe higher, along with a DirectX9 graphics chip.

But, if you are thinking of getting an extension on your Windows 7, then Microsoft will allow Windows 7 Professional & Windows 7 Enterprise Users, to extend their Windows 7 updates on security through Jan 2023. 

Microsoft will change the support for extending the dates, but would not indicate.

So, it’s on you whether to upgrade to the latest Windows 10 or want an extension for Windows 7.
